HOW TO Consolidate Duplicate Events in MOM 2005

Using consolidation rules in conjunction with event rules seems to me one of the less intuitive configuratoin tasks in MOM 2005, but at the same time can be quite useful. Consolidation rules can be used to minimize redundant data that can cause database bloat and can be equally use in generating alerts when an event is repeated a certain number of times in a given time windows ( e.g. 5 events in 10 minutes).
