Augmenting MOM Documentation and Functionality

While the body of MOM documentation is awesome in terms of architectural and implementation guidance, as with any enterprise monitoring platform there are some gaps in how to implement advanced functionality, posing a challenge for less experienced users. Fortunately, experts in the community step up and join in the effort to bridge the gap.

In his first (of what I hope will be many) contribution to the site, Anders Bengtssonn provides a detailed walk through the process of implementing a custom script in MOM 2005. Should be a great example in making this functionality accessible to less-experienced administrators. Check it out HERE.

Marcus, one of the most prolific contributors to the systems management community, kicks it up another notch with a revised version of his 'top processes' script, this revision targeted at identifying top consumers of system memory. Get the script HERE....and Marcus description HERE.

Keep your eyes peeled for MOMResources.org v2, with expanded resources, syndication (rss) feeds and eye on MOM v3....coming soon!
