10 Essential Rules of Patch Management

Patch management is not sexy. Patch management does not draw ovation from execs. Therefore. patch management is the most commonly flawed (or completely overlooked) processes, especially in the mid-market space.

Like many organizations, we've standardized and canned the process, with rules defined around testing requirements, timeliness of deployment, etc. Essentials 2007 is going to bring much needed focus to this in a market where it's sorely needed. And in the MSP space, this is a key value add that should be rolled into everyone's service offering.
